Two Years of Mountain Living

About Me

It is what it is

Diana is a 24 year-old first-generation US citizen, and the proud daughter of Mexican parents.

She earned her B.A. in Environmental Science with a minor in Global Sustainability from the University of California at Irvine in June of 2016 after studying abroad in Scotland and joining the UCI Costa Rica program that helped shape her life and led her to where she is today.

As a current Environmental Education Volunteer in Peace Corps Nicaragua, her primary job focuses on providing technical aid to primary school teachers in their natural sciences classes with 3rd though 6th grade students.

In her spare time she attempts to garden and strengthens her connections with local Nicas and the people that have so graciously welcomed her into their beautiful country.

In the next few months Diana hopes to become a dog owner*, manage to wake up before 9am on a regular basis, and get into a regular work-out routine.

Two years is a long time to be away from home and all that is familiar, but what's life without a little risk?
